The Define a lash volume mascara is basically the same as the regular Define a lash, that comes in a green tube except it's supposed to give volume. Looking at the brushes back to back here, I think they look the same. The regular one is in 'brownish black' that's why it's so light in colour. The brush looks slightly fatter on the regular version. This brush disappoints me, it doesn't look like it would perform any differently, and guess what it doesn't.
This brush is supposed to be a "patented shaped-to-the-lash brush", I don't really see that. The formulation of this mascara is VERY wet and there starts my first problem with this mascara. I often have my top and bottom lashes stick together when my mascara isn't totally dry, so I like to have something that isn't too wet and dries fast. It's also really thick, which leaves clumps on my lashes and does not coat evenly. The brush on this is VERY bendy too, it takes little effort to bend it in all directions (not cool). When I try to pick up my baby lashes on the inside of my eyes, it deposits too much mascara there because of the brush design.
I think this mascara does define your lashes, but does not give volume, so it got halfway there. It does not live up to it's name. I found this mascara hard to work with because of the awkward brush and wet formula. I lack of volume it provides is just the same as the original Define a lash. This mascara is very average at best and I will not be re-purchasing it.
Have you tried this mascara? Did you like it?
